SKIP HURST
How did Skip become a bass player? Well, when he was little, his parents had an old Grundig AM radio/record player that occupied an entire wall of their living room. It had a piezoelectric tweeter and a massive 33-inch woofer, all driven by a 7.5-watt tube amplifier. Now, that may not seem like much power, but Skip would put on an album of tuba music and sit in front of that woofer all day long just to feel those subsonic frequencies blow his hair around and vibrate throughout his whole body. It made him feel funny and he liked it. He still does.
